Vasant Panchmi

Vasant Parva marks the advent of spring – surging forth of vibrant life in nature; which was lying dormant during the chilly, cold and constrictive winter. This year Vasant Panchmai parv is on 10th Feb. It is also a festival dedicated to Mother Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, literacy and art.

Vasant Parva is of special significance to Gayatri Pariwar in many ways. We have been celebrating it as the Foundation Day of the Mission for the last 93 years

  • This is the holy day of Self-realization by our Guru Satta Poojya Pandit Sriram Sharma Acharya on Vasant Parva of 1926.
  • The Akhand Deepak (source of inspiration to millions) was lit 93 years ago, on this very auspicious day in the year 1926. Since then it has been kept lighted uninterruptedly. All the plans and decisions of our Mission are made in the light of this Symbolic Lamp of Enlightenment. 
  • Foundation day for its main centers like Shantikunj, Gayatri Tapobhumi, and Brahmvarchas.
  • Yugrishi took an oath of performing 24 years of Gayatri Mahapurushcharan on the instruction of his great Guide on this day.

  • The year 2018 is continue being observed by All World Gayatri Pariwar as the Youth Revolution Year. Let us all resolved to awaken and positively energize the youth.
