Atmiya Parijans,
We all know that Param Poojya Gurudev was blessed with an exceptional gift of literary talent, which is evident in more than 3000 books written by him. These are in the process of compilation into 108 volumes of “Vangmaya”, 70 of which have already been published. His writings encompass the whole gamut of moral, cultural, ethical and spiritual heritage of India especially and of humanity in general. There is hardly any subject of human well-being and interest from the most mundane to the highest level of spirituality, which remains untouched by his literature.
We plan to disseminate his message urgently in condensed form through a set of 40 small books (categorized as Krantidharmi Sahitya, literally meaning revolution-inducing literature) and the entire Vangmaya in due course not only in India but also throughout the world. We, therefore, propose to translate these books in all major regional languages of India and eight foreign languages (including English).
It is heartening to note that many of our parijans are taking keen interest in getting Gurudev’s monumental works translated in English. Some books in English have already been published and a few are in the process of translation/editing. The updated list of books may be found on Mission’s website: http://www.awgp.org. We need to expand this work further in a systematic way. To find proper translators for this project is the major challenge that we face.
We are also in search of good translators for including them in the team of English Akhand Jyoti magazine. We appeal to all the readers of our magazines, parijans and friends to help us in this search.
In order to streamline the processing, I also appeal to all parijans to please follow the guidelines listed below:
1. Interested persons may send their addresses (postal+email, if any) with a brief bio-data to: Abroad Cell, Shantikunj, Hardwar - 249411 Uttarakhand, India (email: abroadcell@awgp.org) with clear mention (on the cover/email-subject) that it concerns English Translation.
2. Every new translator will be sent a sample of Hindi articles. As and when the translation of these sample articles is received, it will be sent to the editorial team. Further translation work will be assigned to him/her as per the comments/suggestion of the editors.
3. Every translated article/book is considered for publication only after approval of the editors.
4. All karyakartas / parijans of the mission (including those living in Shantikunj, in different zones of India, or abroad) are requested not to assign translation work arbitrarily. [This is essential to avoid redundancy/duplication of translations and to standardize the quality].
Seeking your cooperation and with best wishes,
-- Dr. Pranav Pandya
