We again take this opportunity to remind our readers and Gayatri Pariwar Parijans to contribute whatever they can in terms of talents, time and resources towards the accomplishment of the tasks we have set before ourselves prior to the one-year centenary celebrations of our Gurudev between Vasant Parva (February 08) of 2011 and Vasant Parva (January 28) of 2012. It is a divinely assigned task; all that we have to do is to wholeheartedly offer ourselves as fit and fine-tuned instruments. The time around the year 2011 – 12 has been prophesied to be a turning point in human consciousness – a paradigm shift – by many eminent prophets, adepts and seers from around the world.
Attention of all Parijans is drawn to a newly released (on Vasant Parva 2008) booklet in Hindi – “Janma Shatabti Varsha (2011 – 2012) – Kya Karen, Kaise Karen”. It has been written under the direct inspiration from our Gurusatta. It deserves widest possible circulation amongst Parijans, well-wishers and friends of the Mission.
As a token of our heartfelt tribute and reverence to Gandhiji on his 139th birth anniversary, we have devoted our Amrit Chintan page to what the apostle of Satya – Ahinsa has said about Prayer under the caption – ‘Prayer –The Nourishment of Soul’. Mahatmaji seems to put it up thus: ‘Prayer is to seek discourse with God and to gain light for the purification of the soul -----.’ The alternate prayer is – To pray without ceasing – like a breathing. This is the acme of all Sadhana. Uplifted by the prayer –experience, we will be filled with both – the strength and inner peace.
Beginning with the previous issue (July-August 08), we have started a new series: ‘Guidelines for Pragya Parijans’ based on Gurudev’s own words. All of us – the Gayatri Parijans – must resolutely and consciously endeavor to imbibe the virtues and attributes outlined in this series, so that we become true Yugshilpis. In this context, the present episode of the serial ‘Vinoba’s Talks on the Gita’ – Vikarma: The Key to the Karmayoga - is a must-read for all the Parijans.
The coming Navratri Parva (September 30 – October 08) will provide Parijans a specially surcharged spiritual ambience for intensive Gayatri Sadhana. Parijans are urged to devote this period exclusively for focused Uapasana – Sadhana.
September 11 this year will mark the 115th anniversary of the historic Chicago address of Swami Vivekanand delivered at the Parliament of Religions. Divinely illumined lives of Paramhansa and Swamiji had been the pivotal source of inspiration of our Gurusatta’s life and mission – concrete collective manifestation of the unitary cosmic consciousness on earth – thus fulfilling the essence of all spiritual traditions / religions. We share here with our readers a small portion of what the great Swamiji had said to the august gathering of religious and spiritual dignitaries of the world on September 11, 1893.
“Religions of the world are but varied expressions of The Religion which is Oneness ---. If there is ever to be a universal religion, it must be one which will have no location in place or time, which will be infinite; like the God it will preach and whose Sun will shine ---- on saints and sinners alike ---, which in its catholicity will embrace every human being ---. It will be a religion which will have no place for persecution or intolerance, which will recognize divinity in every man and woman and will aid humanity to realize its own, true divine nature----.”
This exactly is Gayatri Pariwar’s mission and the legacy bequeathed to us by our Gurusatta. We pay our reverent homage to Swamiji on this occasion.
Navratri Parva Greetings and Prayerfilled Wishes
