If there is one truth to Life, it is that Life is Change – imperceptible, unstoppable and constant at the invisible cellular, molecular and atomic levels and visible in the cycles of seasons and phases of life-spans of sentient beings and objects – birth, growth, decay and decomposition. As regards human beings, we all move from level to level in consciousness through the exercise of choices of our free will, which is a unique gift to our species from the Supreme Creative Spirit. As we go up a path, things change and we change. Life never stands still. It is to be lived at the level we have come up to. We can’t hold on to anything for long – not even to a breath; we have to let it go in order to breathe again. All order, harmony and beauty in nature are the manifestations of CHANGE.
As this issue (first of the third year of the life of this magazine) reaches the hands of our readers, the New Year of the Gregorian Calendar (2005) will have started and soon thereafter we, the parijans of Gayatri Pariwar, will be celebrating Vasant Parva, which will mark the 79th anniversary of the spiritual rebirth of our Gurudev - the Yugrishi Pandit Sriram Sharma Acharya on February 13, 2005.It was on this sacred parva on January 18, 1926 – that Gurudev’s own Divine Guide and Teacher Swami Sarveshwaranandji, appeared before him in the early hours of the morning in his subtle – luminous body and initiated this young teenager of about 15 years of age into intensive Gayatri Sadhana for his own spiritual transmutation and guided him at every step of Gurudev’s life and work. Thereafter, including the launching of Yug Nirman Yojana for metamorphosis of the quasi-animal human consciousness into the Enlightened Realm of the Super-consciousness – and thus heralding the advent of the prophesied golden age on earth. The Gayatri Pariwar, therefore, considers Vasant Parva 1926 as its own birthday.
The fulfillment of Gurudev’s seer-vision of Golden Era depends on the spiritual mass awakening of the present – day youth of India especially and of humanity at large in general. In India, we have the highest percentage of youth (65 – 68% of the population). The Mission has traveled a long way towards its aim during the past 79 years and the message of Gurudev’s seer vision has spread in all corners of the world, touching millions of people, showing them the path of authentic Art of Living. The youth of this generation are our greatest hope and strength. It is they who are in living touch with the realities and challenges of the present age. The Mission has, therefore, planned to celebrate the 80th year of its life, beginning from Vasant Parva 2005 as the year for spiritual awakening of the youth of humanity for carrying forward our Yug Nirman campaign for regeneration and transformation of humanity in accordance with the Truth and Light of supramental realm of consciousness.
We have already taken first halting steps in this direction by organizing during 2004 youth conventions in USA at Harrisburg, Chicago and Los Angeles followed by similar conventions in various parts of India. We propose to accelerate the momentum of this effort throughout this year so that more and more youth (men and women) join our campaign of integral transformation of the collective subconscious and conscious levels of human psyche.
We have established Dev Sanskriti Vishwa Vidyalaya (DSVV) at Hardwar, as a nurturing center for integral growth and training of the leaders of new humanity. The DSVV held its first convocation on November 8, 2004, with the Vice President of India, Sri Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, as our Chief Guest. 340 young men and women received their degrees / diploma certificates after completion of their 2-year programs in various disciplines – followed by 3 – 6 months internship training. They have gone out as torchbearers of our holy crusade for ushering in the Golden Era of awakened awareness of unity, understanding and peace. Fifty of them took a vow to wholly devote the first five years for the furtherance of this Mission’s work.
Our hope and faith for enlightened and ennobling human life hinge upon the youth of this generation. The clarion call of the Time-Spirit (Mahakal) is loud and clear: Wake up, the youth of the world, and join the ranks of the warriors for the decisive triumph of the divine forces of Truth, Love, Unity and Peace over the asuric hordes of the devil – falsehood, hatred, division and strife. It is thus that fertile tool for flourishing of scientific spirituality will be prepared - which is bound to become the universal religion of humanity of the third millennium. Divisive and exclusive social structures, beliefs systems, lifestyles and external codes of conduct - whether of the remote or the recent past - will have to give way to the fast-emerging uniting and inclusive consciousness of the 21st century. Let the youth become the catalytic agents to help and guide humanity in gladly and readily accepting and assimilating the message of the Time-Spirit towards this revolutionary paradigm shift in human consciousness. This mass call is also addressed to our Parijans (of whatever age) with youthful and vibrant souls.
Heartfelt greetings for the New Year and the Vasant Parva to all our readers.
